Does the addon tomcat work for x ampplite ?

Im on WinXP Pro SP3
Before I had xampplite installed - and it worked fine
now I need tomcat so I installed it and when I run the tomcat_start.bat I get the message :
"tomcat" is not started
Does the addon tomcat work for x ampplite ?
Can anybody help me please ?

Could you please check the tomcat log files to see if there are messages concerning tomcat not starting?
