IPv4 vs IPv6

Dear All,

While we're on the subject of Java's DNS policies (http://java-monitor.com/forum/showthread.php?t=181), Michael Kleinhenz points out that by default, Java prefers to use IPv6 addresses over IPv4 addresses (http://www.quendor.org/archiv/353). This should not be a problem for you, but I found that here and there people have broken IPv6 installations, in which case it may be useful to follow Michael's suggestion.

Thank you for the heads up.
My infrastructure uses both VLAN routed IPv4 and IPv6 addresses so I'll be sure to watch that. It might also be useful if I manage to write down my experiences with IPv6.

(I'm going to setup a IPv6 tunnel for my home internet this week and test end to end IPv6)
