Has any one of you tested the upcoming version of Glassfish, version 3 Prelude?

Personally I am especially interested in the OSGi support.

Hi there,

Of course I have given the V3 prelude a spin before, but I don't have much experience with it at the moment.
I like how Glassfish is now modular and how the glassfish updater is cli capable (unlike in V2)

Glassfish really lost the fat as you only load the things you need and yes you are right, HK2 uses OSGi these days

I'll probably start running Glassfish V3 for my own site soon

Soon-to-be-released GlassFish v3 Prelude has lots of stuff to like but I think I just found my favorite feature:

Just in time for the upcoming GlassFish v3 Prelude release added a feature that is sure to become very popular with developers: the ability to retain HTTP session data across redeploys.

I'm using Glassfish V3 for my development server (runs Artifactory + Hudson) and it seems to be doing fine. It also runs Java-monitor great of course.
The server is stable under this low load and I'm pretty happy with it.
Once it fully supports EJB's I'll be running it for my website

Hi Barry,

What is missing in the EJB support?

Not entirely sure if it was the tech preview, but a while ago when you went to download Glassfish there was a matrix on the page with the supported technologies and EJB's were not on there. I believe the first version was built only for WAR's

Regrettably the whole java.net domain seems unreachable from here so I can't pull up the page to see if it's still true.
I'll have to wait until tonight and see if my project deploys on V3
